This cocktail takes inspiration from the traditional "flip" style of cocktail that uses a whole egg to result in an extra rich and frothy cocktail. The addition of ginger and cinnamon make this cocktail warm, spicy, and perfect for the winter.
Instructions2.5 oz Veso Alpine
1 oz simple syrup
1 oz lemon juice
1/4 tsp grated ginger
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 whole egg
Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake for 15 seconds to mix. Add ice to shaker, and shake again until ice-cold. Strain into a rocks or hot toddy glass and garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Note on eggs: Worried about consuming a whole, raw egg? Eggs nowadays carry little risk of carrying salmonella. But still, particularly vulnerable groups (including the elderly) may want to avoid eating raw or lightly cooked eggs. For best results, make sure to use good eggs.
